The metal detector uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to generate a rapidly changing magnetic field using a coil through which alternating current passes. There are three main types: electromagnetic induction type, X-ray detection type, and microwave detection type. They are electronic instruments used to detect metals and can be used in many fields.
There are three sets of coils distributed inside the detector, namely the central transmitting coil and two equivalent receiving coils. The oscillator connected to the transmitting coil in the middle generates a high-frequency variable magnetic field. The induced voltage of the receiving coils on both sides is in the idle state. Before the magnetic fields are disturbed, they cancel each other out and reach equilibrium.
Common fault phenomenon 1
The metal detector alarms or vibrates 1-2 seconds after it is turned on.
Reason analysis
This phenomenon usually occurs due to high sensitivity and insufficient power. Some users do not notice that the battery voltage has been lower than the working voltage after using it for a period of time. They often think that the long buzzing of the detector is more than just a repair.
Note: At this time, turning down the sensitivity will not affect the detection accuracy.
Solution
- If the adjustment cannot be ruled out, replace the battery or use it after charging.
- Adjust the sensitivity when the alarm is turned on, until no alarm.
Common fault phenomenon 2
Metal detector with vibration, sometimes the buzzer works normally, and the vibration motor cannot stop when it turns to vibration.
Reason analysis
This kind of phenomenon is generally caused by the user not noticing the voltage drop after using it for a period of time. Because the metal detector motor consumes more power than the buzzer, the voltage at this time can only guarantee the normal operation of the buzzer.
Solution
- In the case of vibration, lower the sensitivity.
- Replace with new battery or recharge before use.
